Project Kusambuk is a community development program in the nation of Papua New Guinea.
Project Kusambuk seeks to create a model for rural development across Papua New Guinea. This project is being undertaken by Jabez International Mission Inc based in Brisbane Australia, and Kingdom Conduit Foundation based in Rocklin California.
The Kusambuk Guest house (To be named ‘Spence House’) is nearing completion. The purpose of the Guest House is to provide a base for eco and cultural tourism, short term stays for business and government travellers, and accommodation for missionary teams. This part of Project Kusambuk will provide employment for many people at the base and in neighbouring villages. The cost to complete the Guest House is US$5,000
Our education campus serving 850 students and dozens of staff is without appropriate medical care. Also, the medical aid post in a nearby village is inadequate for the needs of the area, and a fully-fledged hospital is over 2 hours’ drive away. The cost to construct and fit out a building for this purpose is US$5,000. A Mechanical Repair Shop will provide a much-needed service for the area, plus training and employment for students graduating from our school. The cost to establish the Mechanical Repair Shop is US$6,000.
These major services are only fully available in Wewak, the Provincial Capital which is more than 2 hours’ drive away. We are in conversations with key officials regarding partnerships to establish a Post Office, Bank, and Police Station at Kusambuk.
Currently, the church has a large building which needs to be replaced. Our vision is to establish a bigger, multipurpose building for school assemblies, community sports, training, and of course church programs. This will be the largest and most costly part of Project Kusambuk.
